Overview

A beginner-friendly programming course that runs entirely in the browser. Learners write Pine Script v5 from the first lesson, build custom indicators, write strategy scripts and back-test them in TradingView’s Strategy Tester, create multi-condition alert systems and finish with a multi-symbol screener. No prior coding experience is needed.

Part of Algo Developer (foundation).

Who this course is for

  • Traders who use TradingView and want indicators tailored to their own approach
  • Technical analysts who want to automate multi-condition signal detection
  • Anyone who wants to learn coding but has found other languages intimidating
  • Traders who want to back-test ideas on TradingView without external tools
  • Students of the Foundation or Technical Analysis courses who want to automate indicators

Who this course is not designed for

  • People looking for tips, calls or recommendations on what to trade
  • Anyone seeking personalised investment advice
  • Anyone expecting a course to produce profits or income

Prerequisites

  • No prior programming knowledge required

  • Works entirely in the browser — no software installation needed

What you will be able to do

  • Write Pine Script v5 from scratch — variables, functions, conditionals and loops
  • Build custom indicators on TradingView charts: lines, histograms, coloured candles, labels and shapes
  • Write strategy scripts with entry/exit logic and run back-tests in TradingView's Strategy Tester
  • Create multi-condition alert systems that trigger only when several conditions align
  • Build a multi-symbol screener table that scans a list of stocks and flags setups
  • Use request.security() to pull data from other timeframes and symbols
  • Publish scripts to TradingView as public or invite-only
  • Read and modify published Pine Script indicators and understand what they do

Frequently asked questions

I have absolutely zero coding experience. Will I be able to follow this?

Yes — you are exactly the learner this course is designed for. Pine Script needs no installation or configuration: you open TradingView in your browser, open the Pine Editor and start typing. The syntax is clean and the error messages are readable. Learners who type the code along with every lesson, rather than watching passively, make the fastest progress.

Can I use Pine Script for Indian stocks and indices?

Yes. TradingView has comprehensive NSE and BSE data, and every exercise in this course uses Indian market symbols. Your scripts will also work on any other symbol TradingView has data for.

How is this different from using free indicators on TradingView?

Published indicators are fine until they stop working, produce signals you don't understand or don't match your rules. Without Pine Script knowledge you cannot modify them. The multi-condition alert system and custom screener in this course require writing your own logic — the goal is to build exactly what you need and understand what your tools do.
